What is Microblading?Microblading is the art of creating realistic eyebrows with permanent makeup. Unlike traditional eyebrow tattoos, microblading looks natural and don't fade to unnatural colors such as purple or blue. Microblading can last anywhere from 1-3 years depending on ypur skin type and how well you take care of your eyebrows. The inital microblading session can take anywhere from 2-3 hours. And a touch up (also known as a perfecting session) is required to achieve perfect results.

What should I expect at my microblading (brow) appointment?Step 1- Consultation: We will do a short pre-procedure consultation on the day of your appointment to discuss your desired results. Please bring photos of your desired look (15-20 minutes) Step 2- Shaping: We will custom-shape your brows using a golden mean caliper to find your perfect ratio. Then use the phi app to measure for symmetry. We also use a digital caliper to measure the length of different points of your brow. Then, we will use a surgical marker to outline the shape. (20-40 minutes) Step 3- Procedure: After you have approved of the shape, we will custom blend a pigment to match your natural brows. Then, we will begin microblading. During the procedure we will use a numbing gel (lidocaine-based) to help relieve the pain. A pigment mask will be applied on your brows after each pass and you will be able to take short breaks during the process. (60-100 min) Step 4- Aftercare: We will clean your new brows, take pictures, and provide you with the aftercare. A touch up is required 4 weeks after the initial session (10-15 min)

-

What if I don't know what shape is right for me?Don't worry if you don't what what shape you want. Prior to the procedure, we will do a consultation to help you find the perfect shape for you. We use a golden ratio caliper to determine the ideal shape for your face structure and features. We will ask you to approve of the shape before the actual procedure.

Are touch ups necessary?Yes! Touch-ups are definitely necessary if you want perfect, long-lasting brows. After the inital session your brows may fade up to 30% which means they will become lighter and you may lose some symmetry. Touch-up sessions will even out your brows and fill in any parts that may have lightened in the healing proccess. We reccomend a yearly touch up to keep your brows on point!

What happens if I don't follow the aftercare instructions?Unlike working out, microblading has no cheat days! The first week of healing is crucial to the longevity of your new brows. If you do not follow after-care intructions, you not only put yourself at risk for infection, but also will also risk losing your new brows. Picking, scratching, or exfoliating your new brows before they are completely healed will pull out the pigment (aka color), resulting in patchy brows or worse. Working out while your brows are healing (especially if you already have oily skin) is also a big no-no, as sweating will push out the pigment.
-
How can I keep my brows from fading? To increase the longevity of your brows and prevent fading take extra good care of them while healing. Be sure to avoid tanning, sun exposure, and exfoliants around the brow area. If you smoke or have oily skin, it may cause your brows to fade faster. For this, we recommend adding shading to your service to help your brows last longer and prevent fading. Read more about how to take care of your new eyebrows on our Aftercare Page.

How do I care for my brows after microblading? On the day of your appointment, make sure to keep your eyebrows from drying out by washing them after your appointment and before bed. Wash your brows twice a day (morning and night) and apply a thin layer of ointment each time you wash your brows. Apply the ointment for 10 days or until the scab falls off completely. When the brows start to scab, be incredibly careful not to rub them or touch them too much while and after washing. Wait for the brows to dry completely before applying ointment. Rubbing your eyebrows while they are scabbing can cause the pigment to become pulled out. In order to get the best results as well as to prevent side-effects, avoid the following things: Wearing make-up Sweating and working out, as well as hot saunas or hot baths for at least a week Picking, scratching or peeling your eyebrows as you don’t want to cause scarring of the area Being directly exposed to the sun or salon tanning, UV/UVA rays, or chemicals for at least 4 weeks as you don’t want to cause a shift in color or premature fading of color Face creams containing Retin-A or Glicolic acid, and products other than those recommended (ointment) Facials, botox, chemical treatments or microdermabrasion for 4 weeks Sleeping on your face for the first 10 days. Also, use a clean pillowcase Performing tasks related to heavy household cleaning (such as garage and basement cleaning) where there is a lot of airborne debris
